Elon Musk has always been a fascinating entrepreneur to me.
I recently found out that he gave his baby a very unusual name,
X AE A-XII Musk.
It may look like he and his wife came up with that name just by having a cat type on the keyboard, but there’s a specific meaning to it.
The X represents a variable. AE means love or artificial intelligence in elven spelling. And A-XII is the name of Musk and his wife’s favorite plane.
But that’s not all.
If you look at all the Tesla models he released, the letters and number spell S-3-X-Y.
His Model S has a starting price of $69,420. If you know, then you know.
The man even sells flamethrowers and Tesla-branded tequila.
I personally don’t like to drink alcohol. But if I wanted to burn some of my money, then I’d buy his Teslaquila, pour all the liquid into the sink, and just to have the cool lightning shaped bottle on display in my house.
The point is, he’s nowhere near ordinary, and it’s been benefiting him tremendously. As in, he and his companies gained a lot of free publicity from social media and the different media outlets.
And I bet his child will get a lot of attention from his peers when he starts school.
Anyways, this is something interesting to keep in mind because there’s a very valuable marketing lesson behind his way of thinking.
When you do things that stray from the norm, it tends to draw more attention.
So if you need to find ways to get more engagement from your marketing efforts, then consider trying this.
