Yesterday I was on the topic of business idols.
So why not continue on with it today too?
This next person came relatively later into my life, but still had a big impact on my business journey nonetheless.
This great person goes by the name of Eugene Schwartz.
By teaching me through his seminar recordings and his book, Breakthrough Advertising, he, alone, changed the way I think about copywriting. And I remember him saying something that changed the way I think of myself as a copywriter.
“The power of an ad is always in the product itself, not the copywriter. The copywriter simply finds it and expresses it.”
In other words, I’m no magician.
I can’t make sales appear out of thin air, especially if you’re selling a product or service that nobody wants to buy.
It just doesn’t work that way.
But if you already have a product or service that already sells, maybe then I can pull off some copy magic.
Especially when it comes to email.
