One thing that’s great about the Internet is that it allows the most weird and humorous people to anonymously express themselves.
And one of the most common places to do that is the YouTube comments section.
Oftentimes I catch myself skimming through the comments before I even start watching the actual video.
I remember coming across one of those public child-shaming videos. In the video, the mother was asking her teenage son to help her with something. To which the boy responded, “Not now. I’m busy reading YouTube comments.” Of course, like all public child-shaming videos ending with humiliation, the boy’s parents destroyed the computer and he cried.
That’s how interesting reading YouTube comments can be.
Why is it so interesting?
Well, you’ll see one of three types of comments:
1. There’s a comment of someone making a positive comment on the video. But people don’t read the section for that. They’re looking for…
2. The humorous comments, and
3. The heated arguments.
Now you may be wondering what this has to do with email copywriting.
Nothing really. Well, maybe a little bit. But it’s mainly just one of those emails where I just share one of my random interesting thoughts.
