I talk a lot about why entertainment is a great tool when selling. And if you’re still not convinced, here’s one more reason that proves it.
When I was around seven years old, one of my old classmates introduced me to WWE. At the time, being a person seeing that type of entertainment for the first time, I was glued to the show.
There was a lot of trash-talking, fighting, cool dramatic entrances, and audience chanting.
It was mesmerizing.
Later on, one of my friends told me that everything you see in WWE is scripted.
It’s all fake.
My heart broke a little bit when I heard that, but he was right. The owner of WWE actually acknowledged publicly that a lot of what people see is scripted, aside from the accidental injuries.
Did fans stop watching WWE after that?
I’m sure some of them did, but a lot of them still watch the show, and even attend the live events.
Why?
Because I don’t think people watch WWE purely for the fights. They watch it because the owner does a great job of making his show entertaining by developing interesting characters, creating exciting storylines, and making everything dramatic.
It’s powerful, and it keeps their audience hooked.
It’s something you can, and I highly suggest, use in your business. Whether you’re selling, training, doing a webinar, or writing emails, adding some entertainment makes them a lot more engaging, and if you do it right, profitable.
