Vegetables, the Necessary Evil of the Food World

Let’s talk about vegetables today.

I actually like to eat vegetables. Broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, celery, cucumber, you name it.

Part of the reason might have to do with how my dad cooks vegetables. After all, he did go to culinary school back in his hometown.

I personally don’t, but want to understand why some people avoid eating vegetables like they’re poisonous.

Even though I know it’s not real, I see this on TV shows where there are kids who don’t want to eat their vegetables and their parents have to force them to eat.

I see this at my old workplace where I used to work with kids.

Every Saturday, we would serve them lunch. Usually it’d consist of rice, eggs, pork, corn, and broccoli.

Of course, they were willing to eat all of those except broccoli with the exception of a few kids.

So, we made a deal with them and told them that everyone has to eat at least one piece of broccoli. It’s not much, but at least they were willing to eat them.

I always had a general rule for food.

The better it tastes, the less healthy it is. The worse it tastes, the healthier it is.

Similarly, when it comes to learning, the more boring the material is, the more important it is for you to learn.
