The Pixar Movie That I Remembered Every Single Line Of

When I was a young child, I never had cable. So I didn’t have a lot of channels to watch TV shows on except PBS Kids and Kids WB.

But once in a while, my parents would go to retail stores and buy VHS tapes and DVDs for us to watch. And one of my favorite movies they bought for us was Finding Nemo.

As a kid, I loved the movie so much, I would watch it at least once every other day. And it got to the point where I could literally recite every single line in the movie.

Of course now I barely remember any of it, but there was one line that I’ll never forget. And that’s Dory’s famous line:

“Just keep swimming.”

She kept saying this phrase in a catchy tune while she swam down a dark abyss with Marvin to find a diving mask with an address written on it that’ll lead them to Nemo. Despite the fact they couldn’t see anything, they still kept swimming down and eventually found the mask.

This is a similar thing we face in business, and even in life too. Sometimes we face situations that we aren’t sure how to approach, or don’t know what the next step to take is. I sometimes deal with this problem too. But I realized what causes me to get stuck is trying to figure out how to deal with my situation from beginning to end before actually doing it. I found out that if I just start tackling the situation from the beginning, the rest of the steps will be figured out as I go.

This is true when I’m writing also. Writing the first few words is always the hardest. But once I write those words down, everything else just flows out easily.

I got an Instagram message from one of my readers on Friday and she told me that she journals every morning she wakes up, which is something I fell out of the habit of doing ever since quarantine started. Since then, I’ve been thinking about getting back into the habit of journaling.

Coincidentally, I got a newsletter from a well-known copywriter and she said does the same thing but on a website called 750words. The goal is to get you into the habit of freewriting 750 words everyday about literally anything.

So I’ll be starting later today. You may or may not be interested, but I’m just letting you know as a way to keep myself accountable.

If you’d like to join me the website is down below.
