The Fall of the Image of Ellen DeGeneres

I’m sure you heard the news from one source or another.

But earlier this year, the television personality, Ellen DeGeneres was under fire for her supposed toxic behavior behind the curtains of her show.

The media has been showing no mercy at all trying to spread the news like wildfire.

Based on what I’ve seen from the very few clips of The Ellen DeGeneres Show online, she seems to be a very kind and supportive person.

But now people are finding out what really goes on when the cameras are off.

Even if she apologized, which you can question the genuineness of, people aren’t going to look at her the same again.

It just goes to show that you can’t always trust what you see on air, or online even.

With acting and the technology we have today, it’s way too easy for people to make their audience see a certain part of themselves and make them look a certain way.

And especially with social media, where people only show their highlights and their viewers think they’re living the best lives.

They couldn’t be more wrong.

There’s an Instagram page (I forget the name of it) that exposes these so-called Internet Business Mentors as frauds. Their supposed wealthy lifestyle was faked. Their business knowledge was not as bright as they made it seem to be. And a whole bunch of false promises made.

Here’s the way I see it.

Part of my job, that goes beyond helping people with email copywriting, is to make sure you don’t go down the path of deceit.

That’s why I always say, and will keep saying it, to be your complete self when you write your emails to your readers.

Don’t be like me, or your friend, or some person you admire and think highly of.

Otherwise, people will see you as a fat phony. And once that happens, it’s nothing but downhill for your business.
