Secrets From the Simple Painter

I love Bob Ross. He was my childhood hero.

If you don’t know him, he was an amazing painter, and he was the host of The Joy of Painting, which was a relaxing instructional painting show.

If you never watched an episode and you’re curious about it, they pretty much have all the episodes on YouTube. Just search ‘Bob Ross’ and they’ll show up.

From time to time, I watch some of his episodes and they still amaze me till this day.

The biggest thing that amazes me is the fact that he has a very simple art style. In just 30 minutes, he can paint a beautiful landscape that looks like it’d take weeks to create.

And the crazy thing is….

He only uses simple brush strokes and techniques.

He’s all about simplicity. And that can apply to any craft or skill, including copywriting. When I first started learning, I thought copywriting was all about using these persuasive tactics and formulas.

As I learned more, I realized that it all boils down to resonating with your market.

Focusing on their pains.

Making them envision their desires.

That’s the fundamental of effective copywriting. And it all starts with your market research.

In my upcoming book, How to Become an Email Titan, I have a chapter that focuses on three personal methods I use for market research that gives me enough information for weeks, or even months worth of email content.

Coming out very soon.

I just got the first draft for the book cover. Once the illustrator fixes up the details, it’s go time.
