Possibly the Only Public Transportation Employee that Doesn’t Hate His Job

Ah…New York City.

AKA the Big Apple.

The city where skyscrapers are so tall you gotta break your neck to look at them.
Where the people are notorious for being impatient and disrespectful.
And where the infamous public transportation company, the MTA, resides.

Speaking of, usually when I’m on the subway, the conductors always sound like they’d rather be anywhere else but at work. They all sound monotonous and irritated, especially when people hold the doors and delay the subway from departing.

But once in a while, I come across this one conductor in particular. Whenever he talks on the P.A. system, he actually sounds enthusiastic, kind of like how Awkwafina did her subway announcements. He adds in his own personality, and I actually enjoy listening to him.

This is something more people should apply to their email marketing.

Just because you’re in business, doesn’t mean you have to talk professionally boring. Add some of your own personality into your writing. Maybe add some catchphrases you would say in-person, a cringy joke, or express your opinion on something.

The point is, when your readers get to know you more as a person, they’ll start to like you more. And that’s what you want to work towards.

The more people like you, they’re more likely to do business with you.

“People only do business with people they know, like and trust,” said a random speaker I listened to at a networking event.
