How to Slay Procrastination Once and For All

Unfortunately, today is one of those rare days where I’m not sure what to talk about, so I’m just going to freestyle.

You know, after I published How to Become an Email Titan last year, I never bothered to create more products. I just had that and my email copywriting services to sell.

A few months ago, I actually played around with some ideas on what to create next, and I’ve been having a lot of fun brainstorming.

Then I decided to take this one specific idea and roll with it, and that’s what I’ve been up to the last few days in my copywriting man cave.

When am I going to launch it? That’s still up in the air. But one thing’s for sure, it’s not going to be for a good while, and I’m taking my time with it for a number of reasons that I won’t get into right now.

To be honest, it took me a while to get started on it. Procrastination got the best of me.

But I finally got myself to sit down and start creating.

How did I force myself?

The same way you force yourself to do any daunting task.

For example:

Have you ever heard anyone tell you that if you want to get yourself started on house chores, you tell yourself to just clean something for two minutes, and then all of a sudden you find yourself cleaning for hours?

Or what about Dave Ramsay, personal finance guru, and his method to eliminate debt? Pay off your small bills first, then tackle the bigger bills.

Gary Halbert even talked about something similar in one of his Boron Letters. He started off one of his letters the same way I started off this email. He had no clue what to write about. He just rambled then all of a sudden, he was sharing an idea about a direct mail campaign.

Man, am I glad I found his letters again. He really gave away some valuable marketing lessons as well as equally valuable life lessons.

I highly suggest you get your hands on his letters if you haven’t done so already.
