Here’s a story that happened a while back.
I was on a call with some friends. One of them shared a business idea with the group and wanted our feedback
He wanted to create his own clothing line. It was an idea he was developed while he was stuck inside during the lockdown.
While he was talking about it, he shared some notes with us too.
I read it over and immediately knew what was missing.
Here’s what I said to him, obviously not in the exact words, but the main idea still remains.

So you have all the physical features figured out, which is good. But if you want it to be luxury, you have to think about the emotional side too.
What do you want people to think when they see your products?
How do you want them to feel when they buy your clothes and wear them?
At the end of the day, people will buy based on their emotions, and justify with logic.
Think about all the expensive fashion brands. Louis Vuitton, Chanel, or Prada.
They sell bags (At least I assume they do).
Functionally, they’re no different than the bags being sold at Macy’s or JC Penney’s. They’re both used to hold things.
So logically, it wouldn’t make sense to buy a bag that costs thousands of dollars more.
But people still do.
Think about that.

And that concluded his free lesson on branding.
Of course, one of the ways you can build your brand is through good ol’ fashioned email.
