Not too long ago, I came across a rather entertaining video about self-love.
It touched upon the concept of learning to love yourself first before you start to love others.
And it makes sense.
When you learn to love yourself, accept your good, insecure, and quirky sides, then you’d most likely be open to do the same for others as well.
But here’s where the video gets interesting.
It made me think about this whole concept from a whole new perspective that I never thought possible.
Loving others better teaches you how to love yourself, which also makes sense.
If we can show other people compassion, support, and encouragement, then we must be capable of doing it for ourselves as well.
The only problem is, it’s not as easy as it sounds. A lot of people have trouble doing so, and I know this because I’m also speaking from experience.
It’s so easy to do things for my friends like showing support, or giving gifts, but not so much for myself.
For example,
One of the things that my former business coaches taught me is that you should celebrate your wins no matter how small they are.
I don’t remember the last time I did that.
When I made the decision to start my first online business back in 2018,
When I received my first affiliate commission, which was also the first dollar I made on the Internet.
Or when I signed my very first copywriting client.
Or when I published my book, or even made my first book sale.
Not once did I think about rewarding myself.
That is, until a few days ago when I actually sat down and attempted to make a wish list of different gifts or ways to celebrate.
But even that was difficult to do. Yet when it comes to gifting other people, it’s not nearly as difficult.
Maybe you’ve thought about the same issue?
Either way, this was just something on my mind recently.
But speaking of,
In my opinion, the gift of knowledge is one of the best things you can give yourself, especially if it’s knowledge that can make your wallet fat.
If you can’t think of anything, maybe I can suggest one?
