If you’re on social media and hang out in the business/entrepreneurship community, I’m sure you’ve come across those motivational content people put out.
They tell you things like:
Read instead of watching TV.
Invest your money instead of going to the bar.
Start a side business instead of playing video games.
Wake up earlier.
Spend less time on social media (says the preacher with hundreds of posts on Instagram).
I personally don’t follow some of the things. I still play video games and I don’t like to wake up early. I tried it and it doesn’t work out for me. But I’m still productive throughout the day.
Speaking of which, lately I realized that when it comes to writing, I’m a lot more productive at night. So for the past one or two weeks, I did a little experiment.
Spend the day time doing non-work stuff, and do all my writing at night.
It kind of worked.
I write faster, but since I’m not fully awake, I tend to make a lot of mistakes, especially when it comes to my emails. I’m sure you noticed some careless errors that I overlooked multiple times in my last few emails.
I always cringe when I notice them after I hit the Send button.
Well done, Ellisen. Pat on the back and spank on the bottom for you.
So I’m throwing that plan in the toilet. Going back to plan A. Just do all my writing during the day when my brain is fully awake.
And don’t worry, if you ever decide to work with me and want me to write emails for you, I’m not going to write them at 1:30 in the morning.
