First Impression is Everything, But Not Really

Let me start this off with an instance that you may or may not have experienced.

I recently joined somebody’s email list.

After being on it for a good while, I looked back at the emails and noticed some things that were off-putting.

Seeing words in the subject line that weren’t separated by spaces.

Instead of seeing my name on an email, I would see *FIRST NAME*.

When the person would manually send out a reminder email for a webinar, they would cc every single person’s email on the registration list.

Seeing an image of the person holding up a piece of paper with words on it, but the words were reversed.

Those may be minor things to you, but to me, it says something about the person’s attention to detail and their knowledge on email etiquette.

There was another case where I was on someone’s privacy policy page for absolutely no good reason at all. When I clicked on their website hyperlink, it directed me to a completely different person’s website, which led me to believe that this person copied someone else’s privacy policy and pasted it on their own website.

That also raised some questions in my mind.

So what I’m trying to say is:

First impressions are important even in the online world.

It’s really no different than meeting a new person. If you meet someone new who gives you a bad gut feeling, you may decide right then and there that they’re unfit to be a new friend, partner, business partner, acquaintance, or whatever.

At the same time, bad first impressions can change.

But it takes work, and that includes building trust through multiple interactions over time.

That’s where your email newsletters come in, assuming the people stay on your email list and bother reading your emails.

And that’s when How to Become an Email Titan comes in handy where I teach you how to write emails that are engaging, fun to read, and more importantly, bring in sales.

Once you learn how to do that and be consistent with it, all it takes is time to build that trust and relationship with your subscribers.
