I came across a video from Dragon’s Den, the United Kingdom’s version of Shark Tank.
In this particular clip, two entrepreneurs pitched a machine that produces water out of air, which sounds cool and very useful if you’re in, say, a desert or a droughted area.
They explained how it works, gave a demonstration, and the success of their product so far.
Everything went smoothly.
That is, until the five venture capitalists started picking apart their business model.
Now, there were a few red flags:
1. They openly stated that their business model was going to be pyramid scheme styled.
2. Four of the five VCs tasted the water from the machine and they all said it tasted terrible. The fifth VC just didn’t bother trying it. Yet, the two entrepreneurs tried to make an excuse for it.
3. They were both intensely sweating throughout the grilling. I wouldn’t be surprised if a puddle appeared where they stood.
4. Just the level of aggression of their sales pitch was too intense.
Honestly, just listening to them annoyed me because I’ve personally met those types of people at networking events.
I can’t understand why they think aggressive pitching is okay at all. It does nothing but annoy the people you’re trying to sell to.
But, I’ll stop before I ramble on too long.
Anyways, if you want to watch the video for some Friday night entertainment, the link is below.
